Schumann Elementary School

For this project, we partnered with a contractor and owner who had limited experience with pervious concrete applications. We dedicated significant effort to educating the project team on best practices, proper installation methods, and important considerations for pervious systems. The concrete was transported from our Burnsville facility to Orono during summer conditions, with ambient temperatures ranging from 75 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Utilizing a custom-designed pervious mix featuring specialized admixtures, we enhanced the paste-to-aggregate bond, flowability, and overall placeability. This mix enabled the contractor to achieve optimal results using standard finishing equipment.
